Clayton County Riverdale Branch Library
The Clayton County Library-Riverdale branch, 420 Valley Hill Rd., Riverdale, and Peachseed Youth Storytelling Program will host classes for youth ages 8-12 years in the "Art of Storytelling." The classes will be held every third Saturday through March, from 10 a.m.-noon (except Nov. session, which will be on Nov. 10.) The classes are free. Participants will have an opportunity to present a story at a public performance at the end of the program series. Youth who complete the series will receive a certificate and a free book.
PeachSeed Youth Storytelling program is designed to develop skills in imagination and listening, foster a love of reading for pleasure, and build self esteem by eventually performing before an audience. Participants may have a chance to participate in youth storytelling at Callanwolde Arts Center’s “Emerging Voices” or other youth programs.The instructors will be storytellers from the local chapter of Southern Order of Storytellers.
