Goo-Con Convention at Clayton State University

Want to learn how to create a proper costume for DragonCon?
What about applying realistic special-effects make-up?

On July 13 and 14, The Engineer Guy, a locally-owned Clayton County small business, will host the first annual Goo-Con at Clayton State University’s Student Activities Center. The two-day goo convention will feature workshops and panel discussions about special effects make-up, mold making, casting, and costuming. Attendees will learn about proper costume making for DragonCon and other science fiction/fantasy events.
The Engineer Guy, celebrating 10 years in business, planned this event to bring together people who love the movie industry, especially special effects and makeup. Nelson Burke, owner of The Engineer Guy, says “It is my desire for this to become an annual event that pulls together the supply side of the movie industry and helps those involved make connections.”
Goo-Con has secured featured guests, R.J. Haddy and Roy Wooley of SyFy’s hit show FaceOff and “professional zombies” Erin Bushko and Larry Mainland to lead panel discussions.
Live Demonstrations Include:
• Prosthetic Application
• Mold Making
• Body Painting
• Sculpting
• Full Head Casting
• Casting Props
• Airbrushing Techniques

The Engineer Guy invites you to Goo-Con to see what all the fuss is about regarding the zombies invading Atlanta (or at least the southside with The Walking Dead television show). The Walking Dead, Three Stooges, Coma, The Vampire Diaries, and many more to be released movies are boosting business and creating jobs in Georgia.

Weekend passes are $15 each and can be purchased at www.goo-con.com. Follow Goo-Con on Twitter @Goo_Con and like them on facebook at The Engineer Guy.
