The Locust Grove Football and Cheerleading Association is a non-profit youth sports organization that is dedicated to providing the youth of Henry, Clayton, Spalding and Butts County with a positive and enjoyable youth football and cheerleading experience. We currently offer both tackle football and cheerleading for youth ages 4-12 and coed flag football in the spring. As an association we take great pride in the achievements of this association, which operates at the highest level and is a strong catalyst in keeping the youth of our community off the streets and in the classrooms, as well as on the playing field.
The LGFCA Football Factory Camp & Combine, operated by LGFCA coaches, is a FREE football camp and combine for all athletes age 5 – 12. This FREE program will be held from March 3rd – July 27th at Warren Holder Park, Locust Grove every Sunday from 2:00 – 3:30 pm. The Camp concentrates on developing key fundamentals while building the groundwork for future success in the game of life and football. Hands on drills with knowledgeable coaches will provide a memorable and productive learning experience for youth participants. The game of football incorporates lessons such as teamwork, discipline, hard work, accountability and life skills into daily training routines. This continuous non-contact event introduces the basic fundamentals of football in an atmosphere designed to inspire and motivate our youth.
One of our camps’ missions is to provide participants the opportunity to learn and improve their football knowledge and skills, under the guidance of current High School Coaches/Players and some of the most knowledgeable and dedicated youth football coaches LGFCA has to offer. Each participant will leave with a better understanding of the game of life and football. The Football Factory is designed to meet each player’s needs at a particular position, while they learn important techniques and fundamentals that are basic to the game of football. We will also provide participants the opportunity to develop discipline and character, to strengthen inner qualities and to grow as a complete athlete. Emphasis will be put on the importance of goal setting, hard work, and commitment to positive development. These kids will run with parachutes, pull sleds, perform all sorts of agility drills and learn the fundamentals of football. This program is FREE and VOLUNATRY, but we do encourage all athletes interested in playing football to come out and get a “hands on” experience.
On a piece of mind note, our primary goal is to help grow the game of football and we can’t do that without SAFETY first. So we will put a superior focus on proper techniques so that the athlete is equipped with the skills to help make this wonderful game of football, a safer game. All of our coaches are “Heads Up” certified by USA Football, Football’s National Governing Body, sponsored by the NFL. This methodology of teaching has been proven to reduce injury and risk of concussions at every level of football from youth to the pros. For more information on “Heads Up Football” visit usafootball.com. We here at LGFCA would like to extend this wonderful opportunity to you and your community. With our program being FREE it’s accessible to EVERYONE. We would love if you could mention our event on your website or even in your newspaper. I’ve attached our flyer as well, so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call or email one of our program directors below:
