William Walker Morris
Mr. William Walker Morris, age 67, of Hampton, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003, after a brief illness.
Mr. Morris was born July 12, 1935, in Henry County to the late Lawrence Lee Morris and the late Clyde Marie Phillips Morris. He served his country in the National Guard, and was a member of Lovejoy Baptist Church. He served as Mayor of Lovejoy for 16 years until his declining health forced him to resign in 2002. Mr. Morris was the founder, owner and operator of Arrowhead Alternator in Lovejoy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6 in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Magness officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Survivors include his children, William Jr. and Janice Morris of Fayetteville, Michael Lee Morris of Lovejoy, Russell and Beth Smith of Griffin, Teresa and Mike Meason of McDonough, and Andrea Nicole Jones of Lovejoy; grandchildren, William W. Morris III, Leslie C. Morris, Andrew L. Smith, Kassie Smith, Michael Meason, Abby Jones, Kayla Jones, Alana Jones, and Mallory Meason; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen M. Smith of McDonough and June M. and Charles Torbett of Kennesaw; brother and sister-in-law, Richard G. and Jennelle Morris of Loganville; several nieces and nephews.

Cecilia Northcutt of Killeen, Texas, age 71, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6 in the Jonesboro Chapel, with the Rev. Don McElhanon officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Northcutt and Johnny Northcutt, both of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters, Teresa Lanham and Sheila Northcutt, both of Killeen, Texas; sisters, Betty Vines of Jonesboro and Patricia Lacey of Stockbridge; brother, Pope Hamlet of Griffin; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Robert Lee Patterson
Robert Lee Patterson, age 80, of Kingsport, passed away at 4:20 a.m., Friday, April 04, 2003 at the Holston Valley Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Robert was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Washington County, Tenn. and was a son of the late Lee K. and Pearl Hite Patterson. He was retired from the Tennessee Eastman Company, an Army veteran of World War II serving with the 77/3rd Marines. A member of the Masonic Lodge 274 of Fall Branch. He was a member of the Oak Glen Baptist Church, he loved farming, NASCAR, and UT football. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Joan Fulkerson, in 1990.
Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years; Edna Crawford Patterson of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Keith Dawson of Kingsport; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lynn of Georgia; grandchildren, Tanya Goodman, Scott Fulkerson, Lance Dawson, Anna Dawson, Shavon McKenney and Leia Patterson; step grandchildren, Amy Phillips and Melissa Davis; great-grandchild, Zachary; step great-grandchildren, Zoe, Kayee, Brandon, Ashland and Savannah; sisters and brothers-in-law, Francis Compton of Fall Branch, Erma and Bob Patterson of Fall Branch, and Iris and Ralph Conant of Kingsport; also surviving are
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at the East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 4 p. m., Sunday in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gaither Townsend and the Rev. John Crawford officiating. A Masonic service will take place before the funeral service conducted by Lodge 274 of Fall Branch. Interment will follow in the East Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the Charles Dewitt Byrd VFW Post 3382 of Kingsport. Pallbearers will be Bob Compton, Bob Patterson, Bobby Patterson, Willard Crawford, Ralph Conant, James Lyons and Kermit Crawford.
