The Mt. Vernon Lady Crusaders fast pitch softball team is three quarters of the way through its season and is still undefeated. So far, their record is 6-0. The Lady Crusaders have outscored their opponents 46-0. This outstanding season has come behind excellent pitching by freshman Jessie Bailey. She has faced 91 batters and recorded 66 strikeouts, while allowing only two hits. She has allowed just two hits. The team is lead offensively by sophomore catcher Sam Bailey, who is hitting .722. Other leading hitters include Jessie Bailey (.599), Michele Thomas (.429) and Katie Harter (.364). The team is led defensively by junior short stop Hannah Hembree and senior first baseman Michele Thomas. Other team members inclide, Noel Cook, Amanda Cyprian, Betsy Grammer, Amy Gregory, Julia Gregory, Amanda Neri, Meghan Russo, Hope Weldon, and Jessica Worthy. The team is coached by C.E.
