The high school tennis season hits the home stretch starting today as Lovejoy, Riverdale and Mundy's Mill begin play in the Region 4-AAAAA tournament here in the Southern Crescent. Jonesboro and Morrow travel to Warner Robins to open the Region 2-AAAAA tourney. The Region 4-AAAAA tournament will be divided between the Lovejoy and Mundy's Mill campuses. At Mundy's Mill, Riverdale plays Carver-Columbus at 9 a.m. Lovejoy plays at home against East Coweta at 10:15 a.m. in first round action. Mundy's Mill opens play at 12:45. Full brackets weren't available at press time. Action continues in the Region 4-AAAAA event on Thursday. In Region 2-AAAA action, Jonesboro draws a first-round bye in both the boys and girls tournaments. In the boys' event, Jonesboro awaits the winner of the Morrow-Henry County matches. Also in boys' matches, Mt. Zion opens with Northside. The winner of those matches plays Mt. Zion. In the girls' bracket, Mt. Zion also plays Northside. Henry County opens with Morrow. After getting a bye in the first round of the region tournament, the Lady Cardinals play the winner of the Westside-Warner Robins contest.More like this story
