Vincent P. McGivern, 83, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003. Mr. McGivern was a retired SMSGT from the USAF, where he served in World War II, Korea, and during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church, and The Air Force Sergeant's Association. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12 at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church with Father Gregory Hartmayer as celebrant. The interment will be at Westminster Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Ermina (Julia) McGivern; sister, Bernice (Ladislaus) Hebda of Scottdale, Pa.; brother, Robert J. (Louise) McGivern of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11 Tara Garden Chapel, Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
