Owen C. Ogletree Owen C. Ogletree died Aug. 16, 2003, at St. Mary's Long Care Home in Athens. A native of Taliaferro County, Ogletree was the son of the late Frank Ogletree and Lucy Cheney. He was the widower of Floy Taylor Ogletree. He was retired from civil service with 32 years of mechanic engineering. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and at Fort Gillem. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church of McDonough and a mason of E.A. Minor Lodge of Atlanta. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at Robinson Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Statham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include one son, Owen C. Ogletree Jr. of Watkinsville; one brother, Cepus Ogletree of Union Point. Pallbearers are James Allen Ogletree, Ed Ogletree, Cecil Callaway, David Ogletree, Fred Moon and Scott Flynt. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
