Clayton News Daily
By Ed Brock
Two men broke into a Morrow townhouse Thursday shortly after midnight, raped a woman and shot her husband. The incident occurred in Morrow Woods Townhouses on Trammel Road. The man's injuries are not thought to be life threatening, Clayton County police Capt. Jeff Turner said. "When the victims arrived home two men were there waiting for them," Turner said. A glass back door of the house was shattered but Turner said police did not know if that was how the men entered the home or if it was broken during the incident. The woman was tied up with duct tape and raped while her husband was forced at gunpoint to show one of the burglars around the home. "At some point a struggle ensued and the man was shot," Turner said. Pellets from the shotgun blast hit the back of the man's head and his back. He was taken to Southern Regional Medical Center for treatment, Turner said. Both victims could describe their attackers only as black males. Public Safety is a regular feature of the News Daily.
