Police have released the name of the man killed in Sunday's fatal accident on Tara Boulevard but remain uncertain of exactly why he lost control of his vehicle. Donald Ferguson, 42, of Hampton, lost control of his Mazda while going north on Tara Boulevard. The vehicle crossed the median near Poston Road around 2:48 p.m. Sunday, Clayton County Police Sgt. Brian Busch said. Ferguson hit a Toyota Corolla in the oncoming lanes and was killed while the passenger and driver in the Corolla were taken to Southern Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. There was little roadside evidence to indicate why Ferguson lost control of his vehicle, but Busch said the car did have bad tires. Ferguson's driving may also have been a factor, Busch said. "The witnesses say he was weaving through traffic," Busch said.More like this story
