Arrests made in shooting incident

Police have arrested several people in connection with a shooting that was apparently part of an ongoing fight between two groups.

Nobody was injured in the shooting.

Renaldo Hunter, age unlisted, of Hampton was charged with carrying a concealed weapon in connection with the incident that occurred at about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday on Thomas Road and Lake Ridge Parkway, according to a Clayton County Police Department report.

Poleat Henry, 22, Joshua Dwight Washington, 21, Lemarld Henry Dontrelle, 19, and Quran Marquis Hollomar, 20, along with a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, all from Hampton, were also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident.

The names of the 15-year-old and 16-year-old were not released because they are juveniles.

Police stopped three vehicles in connection with the shooting, but the occupants of one vehicle said they were not involved in the shooting. One person from that vehicle said that there had originally been four vehicles involved and they had been stopped at another location when the passengers all jumped out of the cars with sticks in their hands.

One person had a gun and fired it into the air, the witness said, and then everybody drove away.

Henry, Washington and the two juveniles were passengers in a white Cadillac Deville that police stopped and that had a bullet hole in the door that none of the passengers could explain. Hunter, Dontrelle and Hollomar were in a Honda Civic that police said was involved in the incident and a 9 mm handgun was found under the front passenger seat in which Hunter was sitting.

The incident was apparently connected to a fight that occurred over the weekend at a home in the Sawgrass subdivision in south Clayton County, police Capt. Larry Gibson said previously.
