Obituaries
Dorthy V. Abernathy Mrs. Dorothy V. Abernathy of Jonesboro died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Spalding Regional Medical Center. A church service will be held at noon Saturday, July 19 at Hampton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herb Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden. Survivors include her daughter, Susie Steele of Hampton, and Betty Jo Cummings of Chelen, Wash.; sons, Ron Bradford of Griffin, Anthony Bradford of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jack Abernathy of Hilton Head, S.C.; sister, Aileen Gable of Monroe; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Tara Garden Chapel, Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements. (770) 471-7171.More like this story
