Fred Vincent Banks
Fred Vincent Banks of Forest Park died Wednesday, July 16, 2003.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Forest Park and a veteran of World War II.
Services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 18 at Parkway Garden Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Banks; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Nancy Banks of McDonough; daughter, Freida Hall of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Sim and Judi Banks of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Greg and Sheila Banks of McDonough, Brittany Banks of McDonough, Chris and Crystal Young of Jonesboro, and Megan Banks of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Banks of McDonough, and Brent Young of Jonesboro; siblings, Mary Sue Teague of Manchester, Tenn., Nettie Ruth Sain of Manchester, Tenn., and Roy and Joyce Banks of Plymouth, Mich.; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held for family and friends Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Mr. J.D. Bell, age 77, of Hampton, died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Lumpkin County, and was a retired auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by Mr. Calvin Bell.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial followed at Upson Memorial Gardens in Thomaston.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Jo Bell; son, Mr. Roy L. Bell; daughters, Miss Melissa Bell of Atlanta, Mrs. Becky Eason of Hampton, and Mrs. Jeannie Lilliebridge of Hampton; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Mulkey of Cumming and Mrs. Jessie Payne of Canton; half-sisters, Mrs. Edith Perry of Carior, Mich., Mrs. Betty Jones of Pickens, Colo., and Mrs. Brenda Ridings of Dawsonville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Candace Cook Massingille
Candace Cook Massingille, 32, of 112 Barrington Circle, Greer, S.C. died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was an employee of R.C. Jones & Co., and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. Her father, William F. (Bill) Cook, and paternal grandparents, Jasper W. and Ruth DeYoung Cook preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20 at Choice Hills Baptist Church, with Dr. Stan Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas G. Massingille of the home; son, Austin Grant Cook of the home; mother, Jean W. Cook of Greer, S.C.; brothers, Wesley Adam Caudle of McDonough, Ga., David C. Caudle of Stockbridge, Ga., and John P. Caudle Jr. of McDonough; sisters, Connie C. Helms of Indian Trail, N.C. and Gloria C. Ryals of Aragon, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Joseph C. and Gloria M. West of Greer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Wood Mortuary.
