On Thursday, eight teams and more than 120 7-8 year old players will converge at South Cedar Park for the AABC Roberto Clemente World Series.
The double-elimination tournament starts at 5:30 but a full day of activities are planned.
A home run derby will start Thursday at 10 a.m. followed by the infield and outfield competitions.
A variety of other carnival-type activities such as a dunking booth are also planned throughout the day.
Teams participating in the tournament include the host team, the McDonough Bulldogs. Two other Georgia teams will be playing including the Brown's Mill Yellow Jackets and the North Henry Red Sox.
Other teams in the tournament include the Carroll County Rangers from Maryland, the Brecksville Bees from Ohio, the Broomfield Yankees from Colorado, the Chino Storm from California and the Rio Grande Diamondbacks from Puerto Rico.
In other AABC tournament news:
nThe Henry County 15-16 baseball team begins play in the Mickey Mantle Southeast Regionals today at Hunter Park in Douglasville.
Henry County will play Douglasville at 7:30 p.m.
Other Georgia teams in the 15-16 regionals include Fayette County and East Paulding.
nThe Morrow-Lake City Indians 13-14 baseball team will take part in the ?Simply the Best' World Series this weekend in Panama City, Fla.
The Indians captured the AABC Sandy Koufax Southeast Regional championship last weekend and will play in the Sandy Koufax World Series Aug. 7-10 in Gurnee, Ill.
