Fred E. Walden Veteran Mr. Fred E. Walden of McDonough passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Henry Medical Center. He was a Mason, served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, a Clayton County Court Bailiff, and a long-time member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. A Church Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23 at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Candy Thacker officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Walden; daughter, Freda and Walter Sheppard of Stockbridge; son, Phillip and Polly Walden of Pike County; grandchildren, Chad Sheppard, Kristina Walden, and Toni Walden. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the American Cancer Society. Parkway Garden Chapel, Forest Park is in charge of arrangements.
