James V. Blanton
Mr. James V. Blanton of Riverdale, Ga., died Nov. 9, 2003, at his residence.
He is survived by his son, James Allen Blanton, New Albany, Ind.; daughters, Karen Nichter, Taylorsville, Ky., Tina Wright, Riverdale; brothers, Larry D. Blanton, Glascow, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
Chapel service is Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jose Montez officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 2 to 8 p.m.
Tara Garden Chapel, Jonesboro, is in charge of arrangements.
Services for Mr. John Stephens Jr. of Morrow will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Thomas L. Scroggs Parkway Garden in Forest Park, with the Rev. Doug Ledford officiating.
Interment will be at Brooks City Cemetery.
Survivors are his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret "Dot" Stephens of Morrow; sons, John "Butch" and Sandra Stephens of Hampton, David and G'na Stephens of Elkins, W.Va., Willis and Freda Stephens of Conley, Ga.; brother, Hoyt Stephens of McDonough, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Stephens was an Army veteran at Omaha Beach during the Normandy Invasion of World War II. He was past president, member of the Board and well-known baseball coach for the Forest Park Athletic Association and a member of Forest Park Kiwanis Club.

Philip James Warden
Mr. Philip Warden, 56, of Jonesboro passed away Nov. 3, 2003, in a local hospital.
He was born March 27, 1947, in Joplin, Mo., and was a resident there before coming to Jonesboro, Ga. Mr. Warden was employed by the Bell South Corporation in Atlanta as a senior engineer. Mr. Warden was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Parker Warden.
Survivors include daughter and son in-law, Julie Bailey and Philip Bailey; two sons, Jason Warden and Adam Warden, all of Jonesboro; sisters, Donna Matsuda of Colorado, Mary McKittrick of Florida; brothers, Steve Warden of Colorado, Gary Warden of Missouri, Dennis Warden of North Carolina, and David Warden of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Warden will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at St. Philip Catholic Church with Father Vincent Gluc officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pope Dickson and Son Chapel in Jonesboro from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the following associations: American Cancer, American Heart Association, Amyloidosisi Support Fund.
