From staff reports
Before Friday's football game between Eagle's Landing and Jonesboro, Eagle's Landing's head football coach and athletic director Bob Stinchcomb was presented with the Region 2-AAAAA Athletic Director of the Year award.
"It just reflects on my coaching staff," Stinchcomb said. "This is an outstanding head coaching staff and this is the best situation I have ever been in. We have outstanding coaches and excellent support from the administration."
In the 2002-03 school year, Eagle's Landing ranked second in the region in the Athletic Directors' Cup standings. Last year, Eagle's Landing won six region or area championships and five runners-up. Eagle's Landing also won the Region 2-AAAAA Sportsmanship Award for 2002-03.
Stinchcomb came to Eagle's Landing in 2001 as head football coach and athletic director. He guided the Golden Eagles to a 5-5 record in 2001 in what was one of the best seasons in school history.
The team went 2-8 last year but this season, the Golden Eagles won three of their last four games to go 4-6.
