William Dolphus Kendrick
William Dolphus Kendrick, 78, of McDonough, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Portsbridge Hospice in Macon.
Kendrick was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Murray County, Ga., to the late Ethel Vinyard and the late A.C. Kendrick. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was retired from General Motors and was a member of the People's Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Harrison Kendrick; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Carey Grubbs of Macon and Debra and Lamar Jarvis of McDonough; grandchildren, Ian Perkins and Heather Nolan; great-grandson Jonathan Stephens; sisters, Mary Lee Kendrick and Ruth Richardson; brother Edward Kendrick, all of Murray County, Ga.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at 11 a.m. at People's Baptist Church. Brother Charles Wright will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Kendrick will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Friends visited the family Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to People's Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Kendrick.
