Zelma Alford

Retired

Mrs. Zelma Alford, age 81, of Jonesboro, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, the Saints Alive, and was a retired dental assistant.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, with Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Cheryl Alford of Stockbridge; daughter and companion, Becky Alford and Annette Shockley of Riverdale; grandchildren, Thomas James Alford, Necia Bartlett and Bobby Clinton; great-grandchild, Jack Bartlett.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Christian Ministries Hospice, 621 Carver Road, Griffin, GA 30224.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Karen S. Collier

Mrs. Karen S. Collier, 50, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mrs. Collier was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 in the chapel of Pope Dickson and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Howard Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Survivors include her loving husband of 33 years, David Collier; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and John Beale of McDonough; son, David E. Collier of Marietta; grandchildren, Christopher and Calye Beale, both of McDonough; mother, Geraldine Fullerton of Hampton; brothers, James Allen Fullerton and Kenneth Edward Fullerton, both of Hampton; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
