Jonesboro (1-3) vs. Warner Robins (3-2)
Today, 7:30 p.m., at Warner Robins
The Jonesboro Cardinals (1-3) will try to get back on track today as they travel to take on the Warner Robins Demons (3-2) in Region 2-AAAAA football action.
After beginning the season with a 16-0 victory over Morrow, the Cardinals have struggled.
They have lost three straight games to Lovejoy, Houston County and Mt. Zion and have struggled to get their offense going. In that stretch, the Cardinals' only scoring was a Patrick Saxby field goal in a 33-3 loss to Lovejoy.
Jonesboro then lost 24-0 to Houston County and 34-0 to Mt. Zion.
Warner Robins is coming off a 42-12 victory over Morrow after losing two straight games to Houston County and Westside-Macon. The Demons began the season with wins over Houston County and Stockbridge.
Thursday Night Lights: The Jonesboro-Warner Robins game was originally scheduled for Saturday but it was moved to today.
Special teams honors: Jake Grubbs, the Warner Robins kicker, was deadly against Jonesboro last year with a game-winning field goal. He's again having a good year booting the ball as he was a perfect 6-for- 6 on extra points and punted three times for a 35.3 yard average in the Demons' 42-12 win over Morrow last week.
What to know: Jonesboro has struggled to get things going offensively. The Cardinals have been shut out twice in a row and haven't scored a touchdown since the first week of the season. Last week, Jonesboro lost to Mt. Zion 34-0 and Warner Robins beat Morrow 42-12.
The series: The teams have met only once in a 15-14 Warner Robins victory last year at Twelve Oaks Stadium. Warner Robins kicker Jake Grubbs booted a chip-shot field goal with seven seconds remaining to give his team the victory last year.
