Police say they arrested three Atlanta teen-agers after two of them stole a car in Jonesboro and started a chase that ended in Atlanta. The two boys, ages 14 and 15, were charged with motor vehicle theft, obstruction of a police officer, attempting to flee and several traffic violations, Clayton County Police Department Capt. Jeff Turner said. The third teen, also a 15-year-old boy, was charged with receiving stolen property. At about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday a witness saw the 14-year-old and 15-year-old arrive at the Kroger on Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro, Turner said. "A car had driven up and dropped them off and they looked suspicious, so he called 911," Turner said. The two boys then took a Chevrolet Caprice and drove off on Tara Boulevard toward Interstate 75. They got on the interstate and were stopped by Atlanta police following an accident near the intersection of I-20 and I-75. Turner said that the third boy was driving the car that had dropped off the other two boys in Jonesboro. That car was also stolen, Turner said. That teen was stopped inside the store's parking lot. The other two youths ran away after they hit a concrete wall with their car and one was being held overnight Wednesday at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for observation, while the other two are in the Clayton County juvenile detention center.More like this story
