Mary Arcari

Mrs. Mary Arcari, 74, of Rex, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003.

Mrs. Arcari was born in Baltimore and later moved to Connecticut, where she lived for some time before moving to Clayton County about 20 years ago. Mrs. Arcari was a dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Arcari was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Arcari.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Boggess of Rex, Patricia Powell of Enfield, Conn., and Allison Elder of McDonough; sons, Louis Arcari of San Francisco, Calif., and Barry Arcari of Milton, Fla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10 at the funeral home.

Dorothy Elizabeth Duncan

Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Duncan of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at S.W. Christian Hospice.

A Chapel service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, with the Rev. Phillip Nation officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Duncan; daughter, Beth D. King of Conyers; sons, Gary T. Duncan of Hampton, Johnny P. Duncan of Fayetteville, and Jeffrey E. Duncan of Locust Grove; sister, Edith Whited of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

James A. Turner Jr.

Veteran

Mr. James A. Turner Jr., 58, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, after a brief illness.

Mr. Turner was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart by the U.S. Army. Mr. Turner was known for and loved coaching Little League baseball and received the Golden Hammer Award from Alcoa.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Gongwer and Pastor Mike Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Mrs. Gail Turner; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Chip Chapman of Hampton; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Donna Lewis of McDonough, Kevin Turner of Griffin, and James A. and Lisa Turner III of Griffin; grandchildren, Christopher Lewis, Patrick Phillips, Ashton Lewis, Brooke Lewis, Kalli Turner, Trey Chapman, Josh Chapman, Hannah Turner, and Drew Turner.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.
