After battling through cool temperatures and windy conditions Tuesday night, the Lovejoy and Kendrick Middle School football teams are the lone survivors in the annual Clayton County tournament.
The two will meet next Tuesday at Twelve Oaks to crown the Clayton County champion.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Lovejoy advanced to the finals by knocking off Adamson 24-8. While Kendrick beat Forest Park 20-0.
In the Lovejoy game, Bralian Watson scored on a 45-yard run and quarterback Blake Clemmons connected with Nathan Stephens on the 2-point conversion to help getting the scoring started.
The score stayed 8-0 at the end of the first half, but Lovejoy added two touchdowns to put the game away.
Watson gave Lovejoy a 16-0 lead when he scored on a 1-yard run and then ran in the 2-point conversion.
Zack Hilton's 11-yard touchdown scamper closed out the scoring for Lovejoy.
Chris Hill's extra point made the score 24-0.
Adamson scored its only touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
In the Kendrick game, Skyler Madden scored one touchdown running and one touchdown passing to help lead his team to the title game.
Madden got the scoring started with a 25-yard run in the second quarter.
He then caught a second touchdown when he caught quarterback Hendrick Clark's 15-yard pass.
Kendrick added the 2-point conversion.
Brandon Hosley added a touchdown on a 25-yard pass to round out the scoring.
