Henry County's Amber Harrell tossed three no-hitters as the Ladyhawks made it to the semi-finals of the Softball in the Sand Tournament in Brunswick over the weekend.
Harrell's first no-hitter came on Friday in an 11-0 victory over Groves.
On Saturday against Chestatee, she struck out 14 and allowed no hits in a 6-0 victory. Getting two hits in the game for Henry County was Ashley Conway.
Harrell's third no-hitter was in a 4-0 victory over Cass. She struck out 14.
Erica English also had a solid tournament on the mound for Henry County.
In a late game Friday, she allowed only two hits in nine innings against Northside Warner Robins but the Ladyhawks fell 1-0.
On Saturday, against Brunswick she tossed a no-hitter as the Ladyhawks won 13-0. English struck out nine.
Offensively, sophomore Tori Coggins led the way with three hits and five RBIs. Coggins was on the junior varsity team but was called up to the varsity squad for the tournament.
In the semifinals of the tournament, English again pitched a solid game but the Ladyhawks came up short.
She allowed only two hits but Henry County lost 2-1 to the Loganville, the defending Class AAA state champions.
Henry County's only run of the game came when Nikki Bradford hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Coggins.
Henry County went 4-2 in the tournament and is now 10-5 overall.
