Fred L. Betsill Sr.

Fred L. Betsill Sr., 65, of Jonesboro, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003.

He was a son of the late Barney and Agnes Betsill of Hampton, and was preceded in death by his oldest son, Fred L. Betsill Jr. ("Sonny"). Mr. Betsill was the owner of Betsill's Amoco Service in McDonough, was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, and was a very avid golfer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, with Dr. H. Dean Haun officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, DeeDee; daughter, Debra Lee (Barry) Campbell of Stockbridge; son, Jeffrey Scott (Sue) Betsill of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Christopher Swanson, Scotty Betsill, and Brandi Betsill of Stockbridge; step-grandchildren, Jayme, Julie, and Bryan Campbell, and Billy and Natalie Shubert of Stockbridge; sister, Helen Hardman of Jonesboro; brothers, Roger Betsill of Hampton, Robert Betsill of McDonough, Leon Betsill of Locust Grove, and Harold Betsill and David Betsill of Griffin; many beloved friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary DuBell

Mary DuBell of Forest Park died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Peachtree Christian Hospice.

Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens for interment.

Survivors include her spouse, Eugene DuBell; daughter, Sherry Bright and spouse George of New Orleans, La.; brothers, Gilbert Kinnaird and spouse Olga of Cookville, Tenn, and Kenneth Kinnaird and spouse Ann of Charlotte, N.C.; sister-in-law, Gladys Kinnaird of Cookville; grandchildren, Starbuck Bright and spouse Heather of Pensacola, Fla., Yancy Bright and fianc?e Gina Palmisano of New Orleans; several nieces and nephews. Her brother, Herbert Kinnaird, preceded her in death.

William Felix Odom Sr.

Iron Worker

Mr. William Felix Odom Sr., 64, of Crawfordville, Ga. passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at his residence.

Mr. Odom was born in Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., and was a retired iron worker. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jonesboro, Ga.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Tara Garden Chapel. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, with Bishop Wesley Owen officiating.

Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jean Odom; mother, Margaret Odom Davis of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Denise (Dennis) Herring of Fayetteville, Ga., and Pamela (Scott) Farrell of Grayson, Ga.; son, William Odom Jr. of Atlanta; sisters, Betty Gray of Mt. Pleasant, Ina Ruth Lovell of Mt. Pleasant, and Kathy Skora of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Buford Odom of New Orleans, La.; grandchildren, Josh Farrell of Grayson, Ga., and Megan Herring and Mallory Herring, both of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
