Paula Elise Cheek of Senoia, Ga. died at home after a long battle with breast cancer, Friday, April 2, 2004.

Paula was a talented educator, having spent 15 years as a kindergarten teacher at Kirkpatrick Elementary School in Clayton County, and three years as a second grade teacher at Peeples Elementary School in Fayette County. She was named Teacher of the Year for Kirkpatrick in 1994.

As the heart and soul of her family, she will be mourned. As a light to so many, she will live on.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 5 at Saint George Catholic Church in Newnan, Ga.

Survivors include her husband George and daughters Laura Lovell of Jonesboro, Melanie Cain of Orlando, Fla., Suzanne Schultz of Newnan, and Mary Catherine Bizieff of Apex, N.C.; five beloved grandchildren, Charlie and Richard Lovell, Elise Schultz, and Patrick and Samuel Bizieff. She is also survived by her father and mother, Paul and Elise Keel of LaGrange, Ga.; sister, Barbara Lipe of Douglasville, Ga.; brother, George Baine Keel of LaGrange.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 4 at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations are made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
