Officer Michael Watson of the Clayton County Police Department was released from Atlanta Medical Center Sunday. Watson, 26, wrecked his patrol car early Saturday morning while responding to an assistance call from Officer Chris Williams. Capt. Tim Robinson said Williams pulled over David Lee Torbit in front of his home when Torbit tried to run to his house. Robinson said Watson was coming to help Williams when he lost control of his car on a sharp curve along Homewood Drive near Flint River Road. Watson hit a tree and was pinned inside the car. Torbit was charged with DUI, possession of methamphetamine and several traffic offenses.More like this story
