William Bland Cooper

Retired

William Bland Cooper, 60, of Locust Grove passed away Saturday, April 10, 2004.

Mr. Cooper was a retired law enforcement officer with 20 years of service with the Clayton County Police Department and 12 years of service with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. He also served his country in the U.S.M.C.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 15 at Tara Garden Chapel with Capt. Wally Woodcock officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.

Survivors include his daughters, Sherry Tippens of McDonough and Cindy Norris of Jonesboro; son, Glen Cooper of Locust Grove; sister, Mary Ann Barrett of Palmetto; brother, Larry Cooper of Sharpsburg; mother, Velma Cooper of Sharpsburg; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 at the funeral home.

Kenneth Bruce Jones

Retired

Mr. Kenneth Bruce Jones of Morrow died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at his residence.

He had retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service.

A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Jones; daughter, Melonie Marlene Jones of Forest Park; sons, Kenneth Bruce Jones II of Lake City and Wesley Brent Jones of Prairie Village, Kan.; sister, Leona Jones Pullin of Indiana; brothers, Cliff Jones, Bob Jones, David Jones and Glenn Jones, all of Indiana; grandchildren, Jason Kenneth Jones and Chase Monroe Jones.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

William Michael Tarleton (Mike)

Mr. William Michael Tarleton (Mike), 46, of Jonesboro passed away Monday, April 12, 2004, at a local hospital.

Mr. Tarleton was born in Griffin and later moved to Clayton County. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with his dog Reo, watching wrestling on television and walking from Jonesboro to Griffin periodically. He is preceded in death by a father, Jack Dorrough.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 in the chapel with Dr. Warren B. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro.

Survivors include his mothers, Dianne Rivers and Pat Dorrough; biological father, William Marvin Tarleton; sisters, Roxanne Clemmons, Donna Moore, Debra Hand, Angela Tarleton and Kimberly Tarleton; brothers, James Tarleton and Tyrone Tarleton; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
