Mr. Harry David Spangler Jr., age 78, of Barnesville, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2004.
Mr. Spangler was born March 6, 1926, in Lexington, Va. to the late Harry David Spangler Sr. and the late Winnie Martin Spangler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Marlene Raffel Spangler in 2002. He retired from All American Quality Foods as a meat department supervisor and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stockbridge. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was in a POW camp for 383 days.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19 in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include is children and spouses, David and Cindy Spangler of Barnesville, Margie and Donnie Farmer of Stockbridge, Cheryl and Billy White of Colquitt, and Elva Spangler of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 18 at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Spangler.
