A Stockbridge man employed as an elementary school principal in Sandy Springs was arrested Wednesday night at his Austin Road home for aggravated child molestation involving a boy in a mall bathroom. Fulton County school officials are reportedly working on the termination of Michael Wayne Fox, 54, charged by DeKalb County police in an alleged incident reported Saturday. Fox has been principal of Spalding Drive Elementary School, a charter school, in Sandy Springs since 1997 and a Fulton educator for 30 years. DeKalb County police said Thursday that a 12-year-old boy told Northlake Mall security Saturday that he was sexually assaulted in shopping center's public bathroom. A subsequent investigation provided officers with enough evidence to identify and arrest Fox. Police said he was arrested without incident at his Stockbridge home Wednesday night and is being held in the DeKalb County Jail awaiting a first appearance hearing.More like this story
