Herschel H. Bell

Herschel H. Bell, 63, of Locust Grove died Aug. 7, 2004, at a local hospital. Bell served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the IBEW local 613 in Atlanta and Sharon Baptist Church in McDonough. Bell retired from Cleveland Electric Co. with 20 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was known to be in front of the television every Sunday to follow his favorite driver Bill Elliott.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Bonnie Bell of Locust Grove; mother Mildred Bell of Ellenwood; daughters Daphne Collier of Locust Grove, Cassandra Batson of Locust Grove; son Robert Bell of Locust Grove; three brothers; four sisters; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, in the chapel of Pope Dickson and Son Jonesboro Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Ragan officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dorothy Garmon

Dorothy Jeanette Garmon, 78, of McDonough, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at the Sacred Journey Hospice. Garmon was born March 26, 1926, in Cobb County to the late William Joseph Cochran and the late Annie Ruth Plunkett Cochran.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Talmadge Garmon, in 1966. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children, Diane Johnson of McDonough, Brenda Williams of Atlanta, Carol Hankinson of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Teresa Stevens of Dahlonega and James Garmon of Jonesboro; sister Ruby Baker of Covington; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at 3 p.m. at the Lilburn First Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Marty Simpson will officiate.

Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 11 to noon at the funeral home.

Ann Robinson


Ann Robinson Reagan, 75, of Stockbridge, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at Henry Medical Center.

Reagan was born July 18, 1929, in DeKalb County to the late Warren Clyde Robinson and the late Martha Runell Allen Robinson. She was preceded in death by sons Henry Stephen Reagan and James Warren Reagan; and by a grandson Casey Reagan. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and had taught herself the art of sketching and painting, and was a member of Hemphill Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Guy Reagan; children Nancy Reagan Burch and her husband Ronnie of McDonough, Sandra Reagan Polvi and her husband Vince of Stockbridge, Randy and Anita Reagan of Loganville; grandchildren Shelley and Garrett Burch, Jake and Jessica Polvie, Kalie and Hannah Reagan; sister and brother-in-law Marie and Thomas Reagan of Stockbridge; brother and sister-in-law Aubrey and Jane Robinson of McDonough.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Hemphill Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Bob Griffith and Mr. Herman Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Stockbridge City Cemetery. Friends visited the family on Sunday. Contributions may be made to Hemphill Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Alzheimer's Foundation or the Epilepsy Foundation in Reagan's memory.

Theresa Singletary

Theresa C. Singletary, 42, a resident of McDonough, died Aug. 7, 2004. She is survived by her parents, Gerald and Lynn Smith of McDonough; brother Jerry B. Smith of Macon; sisters Lynn Turner of Akron, Ohio, Kimberly Fernandez of Rex; her cat Gabby; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private services will be held on Tuesday. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the home of Gerald and Lynn Smith.
