Mr. Charles Cox, 67, of Hampton, Ga. passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2004.
A life-long resident of Clayton County, he grew up in Morrow, Ga. and attended Jonesboro High School and Southern Technical College in Marietta. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Cox, and a sister, Joann Cox Benson.
Funeral services for Mr. Cox will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12 in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro with the Rev. Phillip Nation officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro City Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mrs. Peggy Cox; sons and daughter-in-law, Deric and Debbie Cox of Hampton, Ga., and Keith Cox of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Steve Hughes of Fayetteville, Ga.; sisters, Evelyn Montgomery, Sara Florence, and Shirley Miller; grandchildren, Scott Cool, Shelby Cool, Molly Hughes, and Callie Hughes.
The Family will receive friends (Tonight) Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pope Dickson and Son Funeral Home Jonesboro Chapel.

Mr. John Segner, 84, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Segner was retired from Bickerstaff Clay Products, Inc. and was a 52-year resident of Jonesboro, where he was a lifetime member of the Jonesboro First United Methodist Church. His wife of 57 years, Barbara Thrower Segner, preceded him in death in 1999.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Remains will be placed in state at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his daughter and two sons, Susan Young of Roanoke, Va. (husband, Alan, children Allison and Eric), Randy Segner of Jonesboro (wife, Jule, daughter, Jessica), and Jack Segner of Danville, Ind. (wife Jennifer, children, John Michael, Robert, Daniel and Joel).
