Former Stockbridge baseball player Kyle Davies has improved his record to 4-0 with the Greenville Braves. Davies, who was promoted to the Braves' double-A squad earlier this season, has struck out 51 and walked 16. He has a 2.8 earn run average. Davies is in his fourth season of professional baseball and has a career ERA below 3. Matt Murton: The former Georgia Tech and Eagle's Landing standout has played in eight games with the Daytona Beach Cubs. Murton joined the team after spending most of his season with the Sarasota Red Sox. Murton was traded to the Cubs' organization earlier this season in the Nomar Garciaparra deal. Through the statistics released this past weekend, Murton was hitting .267 with the Cubs' Class A team. Jason Perry: Murton's Georgia Tech teammate and the former Jonesboro star has been hitting the cover off the baseball with the Modesto Athletics, the Class A affiliated for the Oakland Athletics. Perry leads the team with 19 homers and is batting .335 through 62 games. Perry and Murton were both members of the Georgia Tech baseball team which played in the College World Series 2002. Perry turned pro right after the Yellow Jackets trip to Omaha. Murton returned to Tech for the 2003 season.More like this story
