Lillian Newin Gamble

Retired

Mrs. Lillian Newin Gamble, 72, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004.

She was a retired employee of 30 years at the J.C.Penney Distribution Center.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 in the Jonesboro Chapel. Burial will be in the Jonesboro City Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Bert Gamble; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Bill Goryca, Laurie and Mark Hatalla, and Lisa and Ed Rice; sons, Brian Gamble and Bruce Gamble; grandchildren, Gaitlyn and James Goryca, Whitney and Erin Perry, Jared Rice, David and Daniel Hatalla, and Shelby Gamble.

Friends may visit the family from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at the funeral home.

Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Barbara J. Ridling

Mrs. Barbara J. Ridling, 72, of Jackson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Athena Rehab of Clayton County.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Barbara J. Ridling will take place at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20 from Tara Garden Chapel. The Family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 until 4 p.m.

Survivors include her daughters, Vickie Jones, Tina M. and Gary Taylor, and DeeAnn and Bob Bales; sister, Mary and Bookie Burns; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ridling was preceded in death by a son, Rickey E. Ridling.

Mary Lee Smith

Mrs. Mary Lee Smith, 88, of Forest Park died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004.

She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 19 in the Jonesboro Chapel of Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas (Watson) Smith; daughters, Mary Ellen Owens and Patsy Hynote; sons, Jerry Thomas Prickett and Johnny Royal Martin; stepson, Gary Smith; stepdaughter, Deborah Smith; grandchildren, Brandy Shea Cleghorn and Kenneth Lloyd Smellings; great-granddaughter, Chastity Elizabeth Cleghorn.
