The 15-game losing streak is over at Stockbridge.
The Tigers ended it in a big way Friday night beating Dutchtown, Henry County's newest school 35-7 in a game played at Henry County.
"It's fantastic," Stockbridge head coach Danny Fairbanks said. "These seniors have been working hard for a long time to see something good happen. It's been a long time for me too. It wasn't me; it was the kids and the coaching staff. It changes the attitude of the kids. It was a lot of fun."
Several different players got into the act for the Tigers as Xavier Glenn scored on TD runs of 8 and 11 yards. Quarterback Tony Moses proved he could also scamper for yardage as he out-raced the Bulldogs' defense on scores of 43 and 11 yards.
Damion Peterson put his name in the Dutchtown history book, becoming the first player in school history to score a TD when he ran to the end zone on a 11-yard scamper.
Darron McClendon also scored for the Tigers on a 4-yard run.
n Eagle's Landing Christian Academy 28, Athens Christian School 0: The ELCA Chargers made their Georgia High School Association debut Friday night at home and they made it count, cruising to a shutout of Athens Christian.
"It was great; it was fantastic," ELCA head coach Tim Luke said. "All the credit in the world goes to these young men who poured their hearts out tonight and to the coaching staff. Our offensive line stepped it up in the second half and our defense was awesome all night long."
Russ Cooper gave ELCA the lead when he recovered a fumble and ran 45 yards for a score in the first quarter.
Eagle's Landing Christian led 7-0 at the half and upped the lead to 9-0 in the third quarter. The punt block unit forced Athens Christian into a holding call in the end zone, which resulted in a safety.
Eagle's Landing Christian increased its lead to 15-0 thanks to a 19-yard run by Tim Waters.
The Chargers took a 21-0 lead when Cole Springer connected with Alec Huber on a 28-yard pass. Cooper rounded out the scoring on a 26-yard run.
Kerk Murray led ELCA with 79 yards on five carries while Cooper rushed eight times for 73 yards.
Huber led the defense with nine tackles and one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Cooper racked up six tackles and a fumble recovery while Brian Moss added five tackles, a forced fumble and a sack.
The ELCA defense held Athens Christian to 89 total yards.
n Riverwood 20, Henry County 7: In the Warhawks' season opener, Christian Twiggs scored Henry's lone touchdown on a 24-yard run.
In Georgia Christian Athletic Association eight-man football action:
n People's Baptist 24, Philadelphia 16: Brent Kuhn rushed for 134 yards and 1 TD as People's Baptist held on for the dramatic win.
Lance Abercrombie also got into the scoring act with a TD run. He also finished with 60 yards.
Kyle Massingale rushed for 80 yards.
n Mt. Vernon 64, Brunswick 8: The Mt. Vernon Crusaders improved to 2-0 Friday night with a 64-8 victory on the road at Brunswick Christian Academy.
It's the second week in a row, the Crusaders have scored more than 60 points.
Nathan Cook rushed for three TDs and Adrian Davis had two scores in the win.
Clayton Fielder ran for a score and threw a 30-yard TD pass to Matt Mandry for another score.
Micah Peters had seven tackles.
