Willodean Hulgan Henderson

Willodean Hulgan Henderson, 72, of Griffin died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004.

Mrs. Henderson was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at the Carl J. Mowell & Son Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband, Hoyt Henderson; son, Don and Michelle Henderson of Griffin; daughter, Pat and Gene Miller of Griffin; son, Robert and Patsy Henderson of Franklin; daughter, Anita and Gene Meyer of Fayetteville; daughter, Connie Harbin of Griffin; daughter, Barbara and Kenneth Crews of Griffin; daughter, Tammy Henderson of Griffin; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

June Skeens Justice

June Skeens Justice, 76, of Rex died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at the Southern Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27 from the graveside in Crestlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Hunter officiating.

Survivors include her sons, John Justice and Larry Justice; daughter, Lexie Auxier; brothers, Ross Skeens and Frelon Skeens; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Justice.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

James A. Sams

James A. Sams, 69, of Stockbridge died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004.

A native of Fayette County, Ga., Mr. Sams was an operations manager over mall maintenance, served in the National Guard, and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 26 at Horis Ward's Fairview Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Mayfield, the Rev. Eddie Roberts and the Rev. Marvin Allman officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne A. Sams; daughters, Delores and Leonard Roberts of Etowah, Tenn. and Lucretia and Danny Pittman of Stockbridge; sons, J. Garrett and Debbie B. Sams of Locust Grove and Cliff Sams of Griffin; sister, Mildred Tarrant of Peachtree City; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Elrod Whiting

Susan Elizabeth Elrod Whiting, 59, of Jonesboro and formerly of Habersham County died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Embracing Hospice in Snellville following an extended illness.

Born in Lake Burton July 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Bailey and Rachel Barron Elrod. She was retired from the Clayton County Parks & Recreation Department, where she was an administrative secretary, and was a former member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 26 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart, with the Rev. Furman Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.

Survivors include her daughter, Holli Davenport of Douglasville; brother, Charles Elrod of Lexington, S.C.; sister, Sandra Biggio of Powder Springs; one granddaughter.
