Henderson leads Henry past Dutchtown

From staff reports

There's been plenty to celebrate this week for Henry County football coach Mike Rozier.

First his son Michael, a former standout baseball and football player for the Warhawks, signed a minor league baseball contract with the Boston Red Sox organization, then on Friday, the coach had more to celebrate as his team beat Dutchtown 40-14.

Homer Henderson paced the Warhawks with touchdown runs of 2, 5, and 9 yards.

Darryl Simmons came up big on offense and defense for the Warhawks, scoring on a 45-yard fumble recovery. He also caught 3 passes for close to 70 yards.

After the game, Rozier praised offensive coordinator Todd Wells and defensive coordinator Clint Satterfield for their game preparation.

The two assistant coaches conducted practice for Henry County while Rozier was in Boston earlier this week to watch his son sign his baseball contract.
