The winning tradition continues for the M.D. Roberts Middle School volleyball team. The M.D. Roberts eighth-grade team started the season Monday by sweeping Morrow (25-17, 25-17). The Roberts Rams are the defending Clayton County Middle School volleyball champions. According to coach Teresa Wheeler, Shelby Fooshee overpowered Morrow with her powerful kills and Joi Holyfield led the team with her excellent serving. The seventh grade team from Roberts lost to Morrow two games to one (15-25, 25-13, 14-15). According to Wheeler, individual standouts were Heather Klatt and Desiree Kendrick. The Roberts volleyball team gets back into action Sept. 7 at Jonesboro Middle School at 4:30 p.m.More like this story
