Henry County police seized seven pounds of marijuana from an Ellenwood man's car and more in his home, police said Friday. Rasheed Muhammed Hand, 27, was pulled over on Interstate 75 just north of Locust Grove for a traffic violation Thursday, Henry police spokesman Lt. Ken Turner said. When the officer approached the car, he smelled the odor of marijuana and saw some in the front seat. When a K-9 Unit searched his car, police found seven pounds of marijuana in the trunk. The Henry County Narcotics Unit in conjunction with the Clayton County Narcotics Unit, searched Hand's Sapphire Circle home and found several more ounces of marijuana, a set of digital scales and a handgun, Turner said. Hand was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and the homeowner, Landria Anderson, was charged with felony possession of marijuana. Hand was taken to the Henry County jail and Anderson was taken to the Clayton County jail.More like this story
