Richard Michael Dean

Richard Michael Dean, age 59, of McDonough, died Dec. 4, 2004. He was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Richard Merrill and Edna Mae Dean.

Mr. Dean was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was never judgemental and always full of life, filling the room with laughter and leaving smiles on every face. He enjoyed great relationships with family, friends and co-workers. Mr. Dean was attending Horizon Pointe church when able and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam conflict.

Survivors include his wife Norma Jean; son, Christopher S. Dean, of Adrian, Mich.; daughter, Paula A. Ragland, of Wayne, Mich.; son, David M. Dean, of Adrian, Mich.; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle D. and Scott D. Allen, of Locust Grove; daughter, Tricia A. Thompson, of Stockbridge; sister, Nancy I. Dean, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; sister and brother-in-law, Janet M. and Robert M. Mayberry, of Athens, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, William T. and Myungho Dean, of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and brother, Jeffrey S. Dean, of Ann Arbor., Mich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2004, at the Chapel of Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors with Pastor Richie Miller officiating. Jesse Lee Duffey

Jesse Lee Duffey, age 82, of McDonough, died Dec. 4, 2004. Mr. Duffey was born May 13, 1922, a son of the late Worther Lee and Annie Mae Holloway Duffey. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the Stockbridge Masonic Lodge #691. Mr. Duffey retired as a Master Welder with 29 years service at Fort Gilliam and 12 years with the State of Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member of Stockbridge First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary D. Childress and Linda D. Brannan, both of Stockbridge; son, David L. Duffey, of McDonough; brothers, Worther Duffey, of Stockbridge, and Robert Duffey, of Winder; sisters, Annie Lou Smith, of Acworth, and Flora Bundrick, of Blakely; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Duffey was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Head Duffey, and his great-grandson, Hunter Brannan.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jim Wellman officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. Gordon Edward Covey

Mr. Gordon Edward Covey, 64, of Hampton, died Dec. 3, 2004. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Covey is preceded in death by his son, Rob Covey. He is survived by his wife Joanne Covey; son, Scott Covey; and daughters, Pamela Burnett and Peg Covey; a grandchild, Zackery Burnett; brothers, Ron Covey, Allan Rischman, Gerald Kennedy; and sister, Ruth Dettmann.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, in the Jonesboro Chapel of the Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Home at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Becky Mae Webb

Mrs. Becky Mae Webb, age 34, of Stockbridge, died Dec. 3, 2004. She is survived by her husband Chris Webb and children, Justin and Chandler, all of Stockbridge; parents John and Shirley Dupree, of Rex; sisters, Angie Dupree and Amanda Dupree, both of Smyrna.

Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at North Henry Baptist Church with the Rev. Stan Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Herman Ray Ballard

Mr. Herman Ray Ballard, age 64, of McDonough, died Dec. 4, 2004. He was born July 4, 1940, in Kernersville, N.C., the son of the late Dessie Macy and Herman Ballard. Mr. Ballard was a hard-working devoted family man who coached little league baseball and football, always was sharing and teaching others, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, gardening, golf, and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur Macy. Survivors are his wife Maureen Kohr Ballard, of McDonough; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Ray and Karyn Ballard of Kennesaw, Matthew Kenneth and Melanie Kohr, of Raleigh, N.C., and Daniel Kevin Kohr, of Buford; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Phillip Blackburn, of Kernersville, N.C.; grandchildren Allison, Aimee, Angela, Sam, Ashlee, Hayden, Lauren and Nichole.

Funeral services for Mr. Ballard will be Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough.
