William Thomas Mitchell William Thomas Mitchell, 73, of Morrow passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004. Mr. Mitchell was a retired LTCOL from the U.S. Army, where he served 22 years. He served in Vietnam, Germany and Thailand. While in the Army he received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and the Meritorious Service medal with second oak leaf cluster. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at Pope Dickson & Son Morrow Chapel with Dr. Curtis Turner officiating. Interment will follow at noon Friday, Dec. 17 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Mitchell of Morrow; son, Mark Mitchell of Baton Rouge, La.; daughters, Terry Hearn of Lilburn and Shari Kirschner of Chesterton, Ind.; grandchildren, Kevin and Patrick Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann and Betty J. Mitchell; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Morrow Chapel. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Jonesboro. Survivors include his son, Jay Moore; his daughter, Lynn Chambers; grandchildren, Johnna, Matthew and Nathan Chambers.More like this story
