Police charge man in missing girl case

Clayton County police have issued warrants for the 40-year-old man who is missing and believed to be with a 14-year-old girl.

Michael Redwine is now wanted on charges of interfering with custody of a minor and theft by conversion, Clayton County Police Capt. Tim Robinson said. Robinson said there was no further information Wednesday on the whereabouts of Redwine and the girl, Shiquita Horton.

Horton and Redwine were last seen in the Cleveland Avenue area of Atlanta Friday, according to a lookout issued by the Clayton County Police Department. They are believed to be driving a four-door black Hyundai Sonata with the license plate number 6399 ADR that belongs to Redwine's mother and has been reported stolen.

Clayton County Police Department Capt. Tim Robinson said Horton's parents know Redwine, who lives with his mother two doors down from them on Peachtree Court in Riverdale, only as a neighbor.

"There was no relationship between them that the parents knew of before this," Robinson said.

Anyone who sees Horton or Redwine is asked to call (770) 477-3744 during the day or (770) 477-3650 after hours.
