Glenda Florence Batten

Glenda Florence Batten, age 57, of Jonesboro, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004.

She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5 from the Carl J. Mowell & Son Chapel in Fayetteville, with Dr. Lester Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Batten; daughters, Michelle McMonigle of Fayetteville, Kimberly Conoly of McDonough and Danielle Batten of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; sisters, Jean Darden of Fayetteville and Gail Malcolm of Newnan; brothers, Terry Matthews of Brooks and Ricky Matthews of Fayetteville;

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4.

Mildred V. Gullett

Mildred V. Gullett of Forest Park died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Southern Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 3 in the chapel.

BJohn Robert Lee

Retired

Mr. John Robert Lee of Morrow died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004.

He was both a member and charter member of Forest Park Church of Christ. Mr. Lee was retired from the airline industry and had been inducted into the Eastern Airline Hall of Fame. He also started the first handicapped Boy Scout troop in Georgia.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4 in Forest Park Church of Christ. The body will lie in state at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Eastern Airlines retirees will be honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lee; son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Shelby M. Lee of Stockbridge; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Lee and Thomas William Davis of Ellenwood; brothers, David M. Lee of Fayetteville and James E. Lee of Fayette County; grandchildren, Megan Rose Davis, Adam Lee Davis and William Ray Davis; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Student

Cody Leonard, age 16, of McDonough, died Dec. 30, 2003.

He was a student at Union Grove High School.

Funeral Services took place at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2 from The Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chip King officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, Cameron and Jan Leonard; brother, Dylan Leonard; grandparents, Jarrell and JoAn Standridge of London, England, and Vane and Alice Leonard of Jackson; aunt, uncle and cousin, Jay, Amber and Kyla Standridge; aunt and cousin, Carla and Marcus Leonard.

Vickie Faye Richardson Mann

Mrs. Vickie Faye Richardson Mann, age 44, of McDonough, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Henry Medical.

Mrs. Mann was born Dec. 16, 1959, in Fulton County, daughter of Janie Lee Speed Richardson and Kenneth Earl Richardson of McDonough. Other survivors include her son, Bradley Mann of McDonough; brother, Richard Earl Richardson of Snellville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Norman Mann in 1998.

Mrs. Mann was a member of St. Timothy's United Methodist Church in Stone Mountain.

Funeral services will take place at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Iris Mattie Mitchell Sims, age 81, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003.
