Jewell Mae Barron Mrs. Jewell Mae Barron, 97, of Riverdale, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in a local Health Care. Mrs. Barron was born in Douglas County, Ga., daughter of the late Joseph Giles and Emma Brown Giles. Mrs. Barron was a life-long resident of Riverdale. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 in the Chapel of Pope Dickson and Son in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Lester Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Jonesboro City Cemetery. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Betty Barron of Riverdale; sister, Ruby Wilson of Riverdale; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pope Dickson and Son Funeral Home, Jonesboro Chapel is in charge of arrangements. (770) 478-7211.More like this story
