Both the Lovejoy Wildcats and Riverdale Raiders usually don't have any trouble scoring points but tonight's matchup will come down to defense.
Lovejoy head coach Mac McConnell said defense will definitely be a key factor in today's Region 4-AAAAA matchup at Lovejoy.
"We both can score points but whoever plays the best defense is going to win," he said.
Both teams are coming off victories on Saturday as Lovejoy beat Starr's Mill 66-53 while Riverdale beat Fayette County 84-69.
"They are playing really well right now and they are improving," McConnnell said. "They're going to play hard and will try to beat us at our place. It should be a pretty good game; it should be interesting."
Riverdale is in its first season under head coach David Boyd, the former head coach at Berkmar.
Lovejoy comes into the contest at No. 15 in Class AAAAA in the gabasketball.net state coaches' poll.
