Clayton County Middle School basketball teams closed out the regular season Monday afternoon, and now prepare for the annual county tournament.
Tournament action begins Thursday at Mundy's Mill High School.
Kendrick 42, Adamson 21 (girls): The Kendrick girls' basketball team finished the regular season with an undefeated record with its 42-21 win. No scoring details were reported.
Kendrick 46, Adamson 30 (boys): Hendrick Clarke scored 12 and Jarius Brown 10 as Kendrick rolled to the win.
North Clayton 42, Lovejoy 37 (girls): Latia Williams scored 26 points and Jennifer Anoka tossed in 13 points to lead North Clayton to the win in the season finale.
North Clayton finished the season with a 9-2 record and in third place. They will play their first tournament game Saturday at noon.
North Clayton 43, Lovejoy 38 (boys): Three players scored in double figures for the North Clayton boys in their five-point victory against Lovejoy. Joe Amechia led the way with 11 points, Tim Jackson and Terrell Barnes tossed in 10 each.
The victory improved North Clayton's record to 8-3 and gave them a fourth-place finish. The squad plays its first game at 10:45 a.m on Saturday at Mundy's Mill.
M.D. Roberts 39, Forest Park 38 (boys): A.J. Westfield scored 13 and Martin Ward added 12 as M.D. Roberts held off Forest Park.
M.D. Roberts 32, Forest Park 24 (girls): Bobbi Boyer added 11 points to pace M.D. Roberts to the victory.
Morrow 54, Pointe South 35 (boys): Jeremy Cox scored 17, Thomas Barnes 13 and Teondre Williams 12 to lift Morrow to the win.
Pointe South 29, Morrow 27 (girls): Temperance Jacobs more than half of her team's points with a 14-point effort, but it wasn't enough for Morrow. Details from Pointe South weren't reported to the paper.
