Two weeks ago the Clayton State Lakers men's basketball team dropped a heartbreaking 64-60 loss on the road at Armstrong State. Since the set back in Savannah, the Lakers have been on a roll, winning three straight games. Tonight in Morrow, Clayton State hopes to return the favor as Armstrong State comes to town for the important Peach Belt Conference rematch. Clayton State brings a 14-3 overall record into the contest, while Armstrong State is 13-4. Both squads, which play out of the Peach Belt Conference South Division have 4-2 league records. Clayton State, which is building a strong home-court advantage, complete with its first group of scholarship cheerleaders and a pep band, is 10-0 at home. B.J. Puckett and Craig Butts are averaging nearly 12 points per game to lead the Lakers' offense. In Saturday's 70-51 victory against Pembroke, Puckett scored 16 points. Lady Lakers: The Lady Lakers hope to get back on track tonight in their game against the Armstrong State women's basketball team. Clayton State has lost six in a row as is still looking for its first win in PBC play. In its meeting at Armstrong Atlantic, the Lady Lakers lost 75-63. Saturday against UNC Pembroke, CCSU lost 64-59. Jamika Hindsman leads the team with 12.5 points per game. Apryl Brown is averaging 11.3 Tonight's women's game begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.More like this story
