The body of a Morrow businessman believed drowned in Lake Spivey Sunday night remains missing as divers from Henry and surrounding counties enter the weekend. Bill Costner, 55, went overboard on the lake, which straddles Henry and Clayton counties, as he, fiancee Janet Drosky, and another couple watched fireworks on the Fourth of July. Costner and Drosky own Sign-A-Rama in Morrow and are well-known throughout the metro Atlanta area for award plaques made by their company. Divers from Clayton County have been at the scene, and fire department spokeswoman Amy Nix said Friday that their crew is also providing equipment to keep air bottles refilled. Divers have used underwater cameras and sonar to help facilitate recovery efforts. The 500-acre manmade lake is 30 feet deep in some areas with zero visibility, which is hampering recovery efforts. Costner was piloting the boat, which made a right turn at a high rate of speed, spilling him overboard. He is presumed drowned.More like this story
