Two Henry County youths were killed in a vehicle accident Saturday night around 9 p.m. Amanda Ramirez, 16, and James Everett, 12, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Mill and Mt. Carmel Roads in the McDonough area. Henry County Police Lt. Ken Turner said driver Jeremy Sheffield, 18, appeared to run a stop sign at the intersection and his Honda Accord was struck by a red jeep. Sheffield and his brother Josten, 12, were taken by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital. Josten Sheffield was later relocated to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Turner said Josten Sheffield was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. An update on the condition of Jeremy and Josten Sheffield was not available. Two teenagers in the jeep that collided with Sheffield's Honda were not injured, Turner said. Turner said no charges have been filed and the cause of the accident is under investigation, but "it did appear the Honda Accord ran the stop sign."More like this story
