Della Gaynell (Gay) Johnson Mrs. Della Gaynell (Gay) Johnson of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2004. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, Louie Forest Johnson Jr. Mrs. Johnson worked for the Clayton County School System for more than 20 years. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12 at Pope Dickson Funeral Home, Jonesboro Chapel. Survivors include her son, Jason Johnson; daughter, Melissa Reese, grandchildren, Zachary Reese, Samantha Lowe and Allie Lowe; mother, Maynell Morris; brother, Harold Morris; sister, Maryann Gibson The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today. (770) 478-7211. www.popedickson.com Joseph Walter Johnson Carpenter Joseph Walter Johnson, age 76, a resident of Jonesboro, Ga., died Saturday, June 5, 2004. He was born in Jonesboro to Robert Lee Johnson and Manche Stanton, was an Army veteran, and was a carpenter by trade. A Memorial Service will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 13 at Noah's Ark Church with the Rev. John Elliot officiating. Joseph Johnson is survived by his brother, Robert L. Mr. Oliver served his country in the U.S. Army during the Grenada conflict. A memorial service will take place at noon Saturday, June 12 at Living Waters Church of God. The family will receive friends after the service at Marie Pridmore's home, 6729 Fallawater Circle, Riverdale, GA 30274. Survivors include his wife, Beth Oliver; son, Franklin Eugene Oliver of Douglasville; stepdaughter, Anita Ward of Riverdale; sisters, Gwennita Shavers of Hampton and Teressa Blondell of Marietta; mother, Eleanor Weatherly of Marietta; grandchild, Angel Michelle Ward; nieces and nephews.
